Cosmo Sarson is a British artist based in Brighton, celebrated for his street art, large-scale murals, and contemporary urban paintings. Trained at London’s Byam Shaw School of Art, Sarson first gained international attention in 2012 with his 30-foot high mural of Jesus Breakdancing in Bristol. Situated directly opposite one of Banksy’s few surviving works, the piece captured global media attention and quickly became a cultural landmark.

With a reputation for visually striking, large-scale murals, Sarson has won several public art competitions. With many of these commissioned as permanent artworks, he has explored and pioneered the use of innovative materials and techniques to ensure his artworks endure extreme weather and harsh environments. A notable example is his giant image of Neptune in Brighton. Fabricated from laser-cut steel panels and digitally printed porcelain tiles, it is built to last a lifetime. The piece can be seen from the city centre as a permanent part of Brighton’s skyline.

Sarson has exhibited at major venues including the Saatchi Gallery and Scope Art Miami, and most recently held a solo exhibition at the Pure Evil Gallery. His work has been published in numerous street art books and magazines, strengthening his reputation within contemporary urban and figurative art.

Beyond public art, Sarson has collaborated with leading global brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Levi’s, and Sony.

He is also an established scenic artist in the film industry, contributing artworks, period decor, specialist finishes, and scenic painting to over 40 major film productions.

His freelance film work, public art commissions, and brand collaborations support an active studio practice focused on oil painting, drawing, and printmaking.
