Breakdancing Jesus - Artworks : Cosmo Sarson

The idea of Breakdancing Jesus came from an old newspaper cutting I cut out and kept in the back of my wallet for years...Literally.
I didn't have a studio at the time and I promised myself that this image was going to be the first thing I painted when I got a studio again.
It is based on an actual event when a Polish youth group breakdanced for Pope John Paul II in the vatican.
The photo of the original oil painting quickly went viral, with the internet traffic it caused at the time crashing my website on several occasions.
God works in mysterious ways.
In fact, when he posted it on his facebook page, it received over 40,000 likes and 11,000 shares in just 2 hours.

Original reference, painting and charcoal sketches.
