In 2010, an image of Cosmo Sarson’s oil painting ‘Jesus breakdancing in the Vatican’ went viral, crashing his website with the visitor demand.

In 2013, he painted another ‘Breakdancing Jesus’ - this time as a 30ft high mural. It captured the public imagination and garnered headlines around the world. Painted on a wall directly opposite Banksy’s famous painting ‘Mild, Mild West’, it lasted for 8 years - a lifetime in terms of street art and a world record for that part of Bristol.

Moving to live in Brighton in 2018, Cosmo established himself with another popular mural - The Angel of Brighton. In keeping with his earlier work, it was painted in the style of a Renaissance fresco with 4 kilos of gold glitter pasted to the background.

In 2020 he was commissioned to paint one of his largest ever murals, on one of Britain’s most visited tourist attractions and famous landmarks - the Brighton Palace Pier.

2022 heralded the announcement of his latest public art commission - ‘Neptune’.

Cosmo Sarson studied Fine Art at The Byam Shaw School of Art where he was mentored by the Turner Prize nominated painter Peter Doig and the current RCA Professor of Political Art, Peter Kennard.

He has exhibited at home and abroad, at the Saatchi gallery and Miami Scope Art fair respectively and held his last major solo show at the Pure Evil gallery in 2015.

Cosmo is also a freelance scenic artist in the film industry and has worked on over 30 productions.
